About the Company

We were small farmers producing peaches in Palisade, Colorado for the last 6 years. Like you, we wanted the best for our farm, our workers, our produce and the customers who ate our fruit. Eric has been in the food industry for 40+ years, so he is well-acquainted with food safety regulations and he used his knowledge of food safety and record-keeping on his own farm. So when FSMA came out, we knew we needed to do something to help especially the smaller farmers. Thus Farm Safe USA was born and we began the tedious task of sifting through the law, the Produce Alliance Training course, university papers and government guidelines in order to learn, simplify, and write all while being as accurate as we could.

Food safety is important to us, as it is to you I’m sure and to all farmers, and now that the new FSMA rules and regulations are out and all farmers across the country are under the rule, we wanted to make it easier for small farmers to comply with the FSMA Produce Safety Rule.

So we created the Produce Safety Plan – The Organizational Tool for Small Farmers, as an organizational tool to assist the small farmer in implementing the new food safety requirements. Our goal is to help the small farmer be organized in your operation by providing the procedures, requirements, checklists, record keeping and information that a small farmer needs to be produce safe.  This will save you valuable time and resources, so you can focus on what you love, growing and harvesting produce. We became certified PSA trainers (trained by the directors of the Produce Safety Alliance in Cornell) to better serve our customers and provide accurate, up-to-date information as best we can.

We are a husband and wife team dedicated to providing a high quality and useful product that will continue to assist the small farmer for many seasons, and we will continue to update our products and services to better serve the small farm community.

All the best,

Eric & Kathleen
